I would like to start by saying the intent behi n d this case study is with nothing but reverence for Apple. In fact, my one of my dreams as a designer is to work for a company of such calibre. Also, thanks to Jason Yuan and his incredible Apple Music Case Study for inspiring me to take a leap and dare to do this. Like Jason, I also applied to Apple as an intern last year. I got rejected too. I was lacking whatever Apple was looking for in my very amateur portfolio back then. Regardless, I had to get better.

Challenges
I am an avid user of Apple products and admire the unwavering devotion to simplicity, while maintaining sophistication and functionality. However, Apple Music is one subset that always frustrates me. Looking back, Apple truly revolutionized the music industry with the launch of iTunes, as the first thriving digital music on-demand service — I still remember having my first iPod and downloading singles from iTunes for just 99 cents. Looking at the current interface, the application looks stunning at surface level. For example, the playlist containers at the top take up an unreasonable amount of real estate which could be better allocated for more curated playlists and data driven recommendations. This is one of many issues I began uncovering, leading me to my final finding of key challenges to tackle:. For the sake of this redesign, I decided to focus on the web application because I feel that it is less focused on, compared to the mobile app. I also believe that there is untapped potential by not scaling the web app and ramping up the cross-platform functionality.
Why have I attempted to redesign Apple Music?

I would probably suggest that you cut your losses now. But at the hospital, I'm helping the other guy who was injured when his car wrecked six hours ago, and I can't just bail. When you try to explain to them why the church would not publish said info on their own website they get mad at you and tell you you're ignorant. Initially I thought he would join the church and life would get back on the only track I knew. Other guys I've dated in a similar situation have just asked me to put the keys in the mailbox when I leave though.
